We’re on the prowl to find out which bingo games to play and what makes each bingo variation really special. Whether you’re playing at bingo halls or online, you’ll never get bored with the various bingo types available. There’s been a huge demand for this traditional game, thanks to the introduction of online bingo. Have you ever wondered what types of bingo games exist? You’ve come to the right place. Let’s take a look at all the games you can play.

Offline vs online bingo

These days, players have the option of playing offline or online bingo, and that has certainly changed the game. There are similarities between the types of bingo games online and in-person, but online bingo provides you with plenty more options to choose from. Let’s dive into the world of bingo and the best games to play.

40-Ball Bingo

When it comes to playing bingo with 40 balls, the game goes by really fast. Like a cat dashing off the couch, 40-Ball Bingo will pass you by in an instant. If you’re a fan of fast-paced games, you’ll have a great time playing 40-Ball! Depending on the specific game that you’re playing, you could win by getting 1 line, 4 squares left/right, and full house/2 lines. This version of the game is truly built for speed, which rather limits the range of winning options. However, that’s no problem as the number of games you’ll get through will make up for the lack of winning variations. And you’ll be in for a delicious treat when you make your way to the Rainbow Riches bingo room and give our Irish-themed 40-Ball Bingo a whirl!

75-Ball Bingo

This bingo variation originated in North America and is highly popular. It is one of the best online bingo games available to play. Cards for 75-Ball Bingo consist of a 5x5 grid, with all of the squares numbered from 1 to 75. Once you’ve sharpened your claws and are ready for a game of 75-Ball, you’ll see a pattern of either numbers, alphabets, or shapes. In fact, there are endless patterns available. Once you mark all of the numbers or letters that follow the predetermined pattern, you win! Some of the popular patterns used in 75-Ball include:

  • Double Line: Complete two full lines of any combination diagonal, across, or down.
  • X: Complete two diagonal lines that form an “X” shape.
  • Blackout: All spots on the card must be covered.

90-Ball Bingo

As most of you will know, 90-Ball Bingo is the most-played variant in the UK. It’s played on a card with 27 squares: 3 horizontal and 9 vertical lines.

  • In the first column: there are numbers 1 to 9.
  • The second column: 10 to 19.
  • Third column: numbers 20 to 29.

In 90-Ball Bingo, there are three ways to win: one line, two lines, and a full house. The one-line win sees a player complete one horizontal line of numbers; a two-line win means two lines have been completed, and a full house is of course when all three lines are totally daubed off. The game is played the same way universally, but each online casino will have its own set of rules and ways of working.

Popular bingo patterns

The reason 75-Ball and 80-Ball bingo games are quite popular is because there are so many variations to win. These variations come in the form of bingo patterns – a shape or line that players have to complete on their cards to win. Here are some of the most common bingo patterns:

Four Corners

With the “Four Corners” pattern, you need to get the squares that are the four corners on your bingo card.

Outer Edge

Also known as the “Frame”, the “Outer Edge” is a pattern made up of the outer squares, namely the border or frame of the card.

Multiple Rows

Bingo games are usually won by getting all of the numbers in a single column or row (diagonal, down, or across). With the “Multiple Rows” pattern, you have to get more than 1 column or row. You may need to simply get 2 rows or some games will specifically say that you need to get certain rows or columns. You’ll need your head screwed on for this one!

Full House

The “full house” pattern is similar to the 90-Ball game that’s played in the UK. A full house happens when all the squares are marked on the card.
