Cinema in 2019 is not letting up!

October looks set to be a great month for cinephiles. There are some of the year's best releases coming our way in the month that marks Halloween.

We have the likes of Terminator: Dark Fate, which reunites our favourite murderous cyborg with Sarah Connor. As well as DC Comics’ award-winning dark origin story Joker. Meanwhile, we will see the new Disney live-action fantasy Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The movie stars Angelina Jolie as the titular dark fairy. There are also many other upcoming film releases packed with action - what a month!

  • Terminator: Dark Fate

It has been 27 years after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Now, a new, modified liquid metal Terminator is sent from the future to eliminate Dani Ramos, hybrid cyborg-human Grace and her friends. Sarah Connor comes to their help, as well as the initial Terminator, in a fight for the future. The movie is produced by creator James Cameron and directed by Deadpool’s Helmer Tim Miller.

  • Joker

Failed jester Arthur Fleck encounters vicious ruffians while roaming the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Ignored by society, Fleck starts a slow descent into madness as he turns into the criminal mastermind known as The Joker. The movie has won the highest honour at Venice Film Festival and has won rave reviews from many.

  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

In the sequel to the hit 2014 reinterpreting of Sleeping Beauty, a remarkable monarch causes a split between Maleficent and Princess Aurora. They must face new allies and opponents together in a bid to defend the magical lands which they share. The movie also features Harris Dickinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein and Robert Lindsay.

  • Gemini Man

In this sci-fi thriller, Henry Brogan is the best slayer who becomes the target of an enigmatic operative who can apparently guess his every move. To his horror, he quickly learns that the man who's trying to kill him is a faster, younger, cloned version of himself. The film also stars the likes of Benedict Wong and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

  • The Day Shall Come

Moses, a poor preacher who brings expectation to the Miami projects is offered plenty of cash to save his family from expulsion. The latter has no idea his sponsor works for the FBI. And they plan on turning him into a prisoner by fuelling his innovative dreams. You will also get to see Danielle Brooks, Anna Kendrick and Denis O'Hare in this movie.
