Totally Thames 2019
Totally Thames is an annual celebration of the River Thames. It kicked off on the 1st September and will end on the 30th of September. This event focuses on creativity and diversity programmes which inspire, connects and gets people thinking. Let’s plunge into what makes this festival original and so popular.
The Ship of Tolerance
It consists of an international art project developed by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. These two admired artists are famous for their large-scale installations. The Ship of Tolerance is a 60-foot long, hand-crafted wooden ship and is designed to educate and inspire young people using the common language of art. This unique masterpiece will be displayed until the 06th of October on the Thames.
Bascule Chamber Concerts 2019
The line-up is amazing and is filled with renowned and upcoming performers which will be performing at each concert. Apartment House, Elaine Mitchener, Ben Patterson, Alex Ho’s, Iain Chambers, Egidija Medekšaitė and not to forget Julius Aglinskas the top composer. On top of that, there is Birdspeed's new poetry using the Thames as an opening point. His tales are of exploration and the exchange of wealth and knowledge. This will be held on the 18th of September - 22nd September. So, you need to make the most of it!
Join Regatta London on Sunday 29th September. It is the UK’s newest and most exciting mass participation paddle sports event. Regatta London is the first event that will play host to a ground-breaking day and will see rowing, kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding together on the River Thames.
Regatta London will give the participants a unique experience. Paddlers will also encounter an incredible view of some of London’s most famous attractions, as they either row 14 miles or paddle 12 miles through the heart of London. There will be two iconic routes which are available, based on the level of experience - The London Crossing and The Big Ben Challenge. Are you up to this challenge?
